Virtual Learning Dragon: A Story About Distance Learning to Help Kids Learn Online.
Hey team, it is hard to believe that our last blog post has already arrived. For my last post I wanted to share a wonderful idea I found on Amazon. Virtual Learning Dragon. In reality I wished I had found this and posted it earlier in the school year for my vast reading audience with young children adapting to virtual learning.
Virtual Learning Dragon helps young children overcome fears and struggles with virtual learning and sudden change. It helps answer questions such as what if virtual learning is too hard for me? What if I get bored easily and cannot stay engaged? What if I don’t want to do my virtual classwork? What if I am easily distracted? And, what if I don’t want to follow any of the new virtual class rules? The best part is this book is free for Kindle Unlimited and Audible customers and is a great way to start introducing your young learning to all the benefits of eReaders. Of course, you can also find this read by various people on YouTube. Of note, this is one book in a 40 book series for young learners. There is even a book about Digoory Dragon and wearing a mask. These are great for tackling those things youngsters struggle with as well as creating an interest in reading and learning at a young age.

ReplyDeleteThis seems like such a great tool for parents to help their children with transitioning to virtual learning. It seems to also address all of the uncertainty children are facing right now. It is hard to explain to a small child why everyone is wearing masks. Its great that this is a free series that is easily assessable. I laughed when I saw the panel on mute and unmute. I listen to the teachers all day on my nieces zoom classes and I hear unmute or mute your microphone about fifty times a day. Thanks for your post.

Mike W.,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Tammy that this would be great tool for parents to use to educate their offspring in methods they may understand. Free is always a great especially the financial bind most families are in during the pandemic. New methods and ways to keep demons seeds busy and distracted in a healthy way is always good.

Mike,
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great way to introduce young children to virtual learning. I think utilizing this platform can establish a great foundation for young children to learn. It seems very fun and interesting and am I sure young children would really like it. All in general I think reading like many of the posts you have given us is a great way to get children in the habit of reading. I also think that this virtual learning platform can address some of the angst some children are experiencing when it comes and is related to distant learning. As always great post and thank you for sharing.

Mike, yet another perk for Amazon Prime members! I am always happy about that. Starting Monday our kids will be 100% virtual again as cases are going up in the school district. This book will be a great read for our first grader. Thank you as always for the new tools. I have enjoyed following your blog.

Mike W,
ReplyDeleteThank you for pointing out this resource. I have a 12 year old who is still learning how to navigate the online platform his school uses - Google Classrooms. I believe that this resource can help him a little bit and you are right, this would have a been a great resource to know about at the beginning of the school year. However, during this holiday break, I am going to make sure he doesn't lose all that distant learning knowledge by utilizing this resource. Thanks again!
